The Republic of Croatia and the Republic of Tunis delegations held political consultations at the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry

The Republic of Croatia delegation, headed by Hido Biščević, the State Secretary for Political Affairs at the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry, held in Zagreb political consultations with The Republic of Tunis delegation, headed by Hatem Ben Salem, Tunisian Deputy Foreign Affairs Minister

During the consultations, Mohamed Daouoas, recently appointed and the first ambassador of the Republic of Tunis to the Republic of Croatia, with Vienna as the headquarters, handed the State Secretary Hido Biščević copies of the credentials, and stressed this would raise the level of relations between the two countries. He emphasised the mutual satisfaction at the two countries' friendly relations, without any open issues left, and stressed it was necessary to enhance the economy co-operation, to close the negotiations on the Agreement on the protection of investments and the Agreement on economy and trade co-operation, as well as to start negotiations on other agreements concerning the economy, tourism, maritime traffic, and double tax evasion.

Besides economy co-operation, great interest was expressed in co-operation in the fields of education, science, culture, and sports, and a possibility of artists’ and students’ exchange was stressed. After the consultations at the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry, Tunisian delegation visited the Ministry of Science, Education and Sports, where they were received by Minister Dragan Primorac. The delegation also visited Central State Administrative Office for e-Croatia of the Government of the Republic of Croatia, where they spoke to State Secretary Miroslav Kovačić, and the Croatian Chamber of Economy, where Dunja Konjevod, head of the International Relations Sector, received them.
