Minister Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović and the Norwegian Ambassador Knut Toraasen signed a Joint Statement

Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović received today, July 7, 2005, the Kingdom of Norway Ambassador Knut Toraasen to a farewell visit

Minister Grabar-Kitarović said the Republic of Croatia government was determined to implement the Stabilisation and Association Agreement, and to meet all the required conditions for its full membership in the European Union. An extremely important part in meeting the imposed conditions is the development of relations with the neighbouring countries, the priority of which are reconstruction and development of traffic infrastructure. The established relations with the neighbouring countries and progress in reconstruction and modernisation of infrastructure enable today's international traffic to move in a normal way. In this way, the statement signed between the governments of the Republic of Croatia and the Kingdom of Norway would contribute significantly to rebuilding of steel bridge of the Danube River, at the state border Erdut-Bogojevo.

Ambassador Toraasen said he was satisfied with the bridge rebuilding project, as well as with the results produced during his mandate. He also stressed the importance the signed joint statement had for cooperation in the region.
