Ambassador to Budapest Stanko Nick awarded high Hungarian prize

Croatian Ambassador to the Republic of Hungary Stanko Nick received today, 21 March 2005 in Budapest, the high Miklos Radnoti prize

Ambassador Nick is the first foreign diplomat to receive this prize named after one of Hungary’s greatest poets, Miklos Radnoti, who was killed by fascists at the end of WW2 because of his antifascist activities and Jewish origin.

This distinguished prize is being awarded for the fifth year in a row to eminent social figures for their contribution to struggle against racism, anti-Semitism and intolerance. The prize, consisting of a glass sculpture and a memorial plaque, was handed to Ambassador Stanko Nick by at the Budapest theatre Miklos Radnoti by Vice-President of the Hungarian parliament Laszlo Mandur.
