Minister Grabar-Kitarović informed Austria’s Foreign Minister Ursula Plassnik with Croatia’s efforts on the road towards the EU membership and the efforts to meet all of the conditions, including full co-operation with the Hague Tribunal. Minister Grabar-Kitarović expressed her conviction that Croatia can prove that it is doing everything it can. The Republic of Croatia appreciates friendly Austria’s help, with whom it has excellent bilateral relations with no open issues, said Minister Grabar-Kitarović.
Austria’s Foreign Minister Plassnik said that she personally believes that Croatia’s negotiations with the EU will begin 17 March 2005, adding that it is equally important for the region as a whole. The Council of Ministers will reach the decision 16 March 2005 in Brussels, said Plasnik, and added that she is certain that by that time Croatia will prove it fully co-operates with the Hague.
