Assistant Minister Dražen Margeta received today, 21 February 2005, in Zagreb, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, Brazil’s Ambassador to Croatia seated in Vienna Celso Marcos de Souza, who handed his the copies of his credentials
Assistant Minister Margeta and Ambassador De Souza expressed their conviction that the co-operation between the two countries will intensify, given Brazil’s developed political and economic relations with the EU. Margeta informed De Souza about Croatia’s views on acceding to the EU, as well as the Croatian Government’s activities in that regard.
On the eve of the UN Security Council reform, it was agreed that Croatia and Brazil share similar views. For the purposes of intensifying the bilateral co-operation, political consultations were agreed between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of the Republic of Croatia and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Brazil, at which concrete possibilities of further co-operation will be reviewed.
