Assistant Minister Dražen Margeta received today, 21 February 2005, in Zagreb, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, Ambassador Samuel Amehou, who handed him his credentials as the first ambassador of the Republic of Benin to the Republic of Croatia, seated at Benin’s Permanent Mission to the UN, Geneva
Assistant Minister Margeta and Ambassador Amehou agreed that the two countries should strengthen their political and economic relations, and for that purpose prepare certain bilateral agreements that will facilitate the development of the relations.
Assistant Minister Margeta asked for Benin’s support to Croatia’s candidacy for a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council for 2008/2009. Ambassador Amehou said that he will personally advocate that Croatia receives support for its candidacy.
