Minister Žužul took part at the Ministerial Meeting of NATO Euro-Atlantic Partnership Council

Foreign Affairs Minister Miomir Žužul took part today, 9 December 2004, in Brussels, at the Ministerial Meeting of NATO Euro-Atlantic Partnership Council

In his speech, Minister Žužul pointed out that Croatia is vitally interested in the stability of South Eastern Europe which can achieve long-term stability precisely through Euro-Atlantic integrations. In that regard, it is necessary to satisfy certain political conditions and criteria, which Croatia is consistent in carrying out. Through active regional policy, Croatia will assist other countries in the region in their effort to approach the Euro-Atlantic integrations.

Minister Žužul thanked NATO Secretary General Scheffer for his support to Alliance membership aspirants, and US Secretary of State Powell for his active engagement in the US-Adriatic Charter.

After the discussion on the future of the region, the ministers acknowledged the president’s Report on the Euro-Atlantic after the Istanbul Summit, which states support to members of the Membership Action Plan – Croatia, Albania and Macedonia – on their road to NATO.
