Organised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, a seminar entitled “Towards NATO Membership – Dialogue with the Public” was held in Selce, as a part of Croatia’s 6-month presidency over co-operation within the U.S.-Adriatic Charter
The 2-day seminar was headed by the National Co-ordinator for NATO at the MFA Pjer Šimunović, and the opening lecture was delivered by prof. Radovan Vukadinović, president of the Croatian Atlantic Council. Presentations were held by Borut Grgič and Dejan Verčič, leading PR experts from Slovenia, Zsolt Rabai from the NATO Office of Information and Press, Višnja Starešina, Croatian publicist and PR expert, as well as representatives from the 5 region countries. The topic of the seminar was the public’s relation in the region countries towards NATO in view of the future membership. Participating at the conference were also Hungarian diplomats, whose embassy to Croatia is NATO’s contact point, as well as diplomats from the U.S. and Great Britain.
