State Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Gordan Bakota received today, 5 October 2004, the delegation of the Hungarian government’s Office for National and Ethnic Minorities, led by Head of the Office Antal Heizer
The Hungarian delegation stayed in Croatia 3-5 October and visited the tourist resort in Vlašići on the island of Pag. The Republic of Croatia ceded the resort for use to the Croatian National Self-Government in Hungary for a 20-year period pursuant to the Agreement on Ceding the Real Estate for Use, while the Hungarian government allocated 400,000 Euro for the reconstruction of the object.
Both Croatian and Hungarian side expressed their satisfaction with this joint project. It was concluded that the project should be presented to Europe as an example of good neighbourly co-operation between an EU member and a membership candidate, as well as a model of co-operation between two region countries in minority issues.
