Croatian Foreign Minister Miomir Žužul appointed world-renowned artists Branko Lustig and Vjekoslav Šutej special advisors for international promotion
Minister Žužul offered Branko Lustig and Vjekoslav Šutej the position of special advisors, which both of them accepted. Their appointment is in concurrence with the intention of the Croatian MFA and government to confirm a real, positive image and perception the world has of Croatia.
Oscar winner Branko Lustig is a famous Hollywood film producer, born in Osijek, worked for a long time in Jadran Film. He achieved distinguished results that made a name for Croatian film both at home and abroad. He gained world fame after he moved to the U. S. on Steven Spielberg’s invitation. In movie circles, Lustig is considered one of the most successful Hollywood producers.
Conductor Vjekoslav Šutej, born in Rijeka, is one of the biggest names on the world music scene and has conducted some of the world’s most important philharmonic and opera orchestras. He is a musical director and a conductor of Zagreb Symphonic Orchestra, art director of Dubrovačke ljetne igre (Dubrovnik Summer Games) and a professor at the Croatian Music Academy. He is famous for conducting at some of the world’s most renowned opera houses and at the concerts of the three tenors – Pavarotti, Domingo and Carreras.
Lustig and Šutej’s appointment is a part of a complex promotional program which Minister Žužul has been conducting since the start of his mandate. The goal of the program is to create a new and positive image of Croatia in the world, direct the focus of the international public’s interest towards affirmative and constructive perception of Croatia, the end result of which would be a growing consciousness about the possibilities and attractiveness of investing in Croatia, and making Croatia a desirable tourist destination.
With their reputation, energy and personalities, producer Lusting and maestro Šutej will undoubtedly contribute to the strengthening of Croatia’s reputation in the world, and not only withing the world of film and music. Both of them were glad to accept Minister Žužul’s offer, pointing out that they have always strove to contribute to Croatia’s image in the world, and will continue to do so as foreign minister’s official special advisors for international promotion.
