Croatian Foreign Minister Miomir Žužul met today in Copenhagen with Danish Foreign Minister Per Stig Møller. Minister Møller expressed Denmark's full support of Croatia's joining the EU and NATO
The two ministers concluded that good bilateral relations between Croatia and Denmark create a possibility for further expansion of co-operation, especially in the field of economy, which both Croatian and Danish businessmen have shown great interest for. Danish Foreign Minister described Croatia as one of the most stable countries in the region. With stable democracy, proven at the recent elections, the government's treatment of minorities, efforts in return of the refugees and consistent respect for human rights, Croatia makes for a reliable partner. Minister Žužul and Møller expressed their equal views on the international war against terrorism.
At today's meeting with the Croatian delegation held at the Danish parliament, full support of Croatia's efforts to gain full membership in the EU and NATO was also expressed by Chairman of the European Affairs Committee Claus Larsen-Jensen and Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee Jens Hald Madsen.
Later in the day, at the incentive of the Croatian Red Cross, Foreign Minister Žužul awarded Henry, the Prince of Denmark, with the Grand Order of Queen Jelena with the Ribbon and Great Star. Prince Henry, as a protector of the Danish Red Cross, helped Croatia immensely during the Croatian War for Independence.
