Croatian Foreign Minister Miomir Žužul received today, 3 March, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs the delegation of the NATO Sub-Committee on Future Security and Defence Capabilities that is on a three-day visit to Croatia
Minister Žužul informed the delegation of the NATO Sub-Committee on Future Security and Defence Capabilities with Croatia’s achievements in preparations for NATO membership. Croatia is now in the second cycle of the Membership Action Plan (MAP) and is conducting the armed forces reform and taking part in 7 peacekeeping missions, including the NATO mission to Afghanistan, whereby it actively contributes to international security. For Croatia, entering NATO is equally important as entering the EU, said Minister Žužul, pointing out that Croatia is determined to satisfy all political criteria – return of refugees and their property, co-operation with the Hague and solving of all open issues in relations with the neighbour countries.
After meeting with Minister Žužul, the delegation of the Sub-Committee on Future Security and Defence Capabilities will meet at the Croatian Ministry of Foreign Affairs with the National Co-ordinator for NATO and MAP Pjer Šimunović. The delegation was received yesterday by Croatian Prime Minister Ivo Sanader, President of the Croatian parliament Vladimir Šeks and Deputy Mayor Milan Bandić. Today the delegation will be held meetings at the Croatian Defence Ministry, after which they will visit the Croatian troops and the military range “Korana” in Karlovac.
