The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania, Antanas Valionis, sent a letter expressing his gratitude to the Croatian MFA, Tonino Picula, for his congratulations on the occasion of the invitation to the Republic of Lithuania to join the NATO. In his letter the Lithuanian MFA underlined, among other things, the special role of Croatia within the Vilnius Group.

"Your personal role and the role of your country have supported our work aimed at obtaining the invitation from Prague", said Minister Valionis expressing readiness to continue the cooperation with Croatia within the Vilnius Group.

"I congratulate you on the progress your country made on the way to reform, as duly reflected in the Declaration from the Prague Summit", continued the Lithuanian MFA. In the words of the Lithuanian Minister Valionis, Lithuania is prepared to share its own experience with Croatia in supporting the Croatian efforts to become a full member of the NATO.
