Mr. Bouchers statement decisively deny speculation on the reasons for postponing...

The most recent statement of Mr. Boucher, US State Department Spokesman, and Mr. Reeker, his Deputy, on signing the Adriatic Charter, given at today's press conference at the State Department, decisively deny speculation in some Croatian media on the reasons for postponing its signing.

When asked by journalists why the Adriatic Charter has not been signed yet, Mr. Boucher said: “...that signing is not postponed. It is about schedule of Mr. Powell and we are not certain whether the Charter will be signed this week....”

Spokesman Boucher also said: “this has nothing to do with political punishment of Croatia, but with Mr. Powel's tight schedule!”.
