The motive of talks was the forthcoming visit of the Croatian Prime Minister Ivica Račan and the Croatian Foreign Minister Tonino Picula to Ireland on 13 June. The interlocutors used this meeting to agree on the topics to be discussed in Ireland. They reviewed the bilateral relations between the two countries and concluded that bilateral relations show an upward trend.
Both sides expressed their satisfaction with the forthcoming meeting and Minister Picula pointed out cultural similarity between the Croatian and Irish people.
