4th meeting of the Inter-state Diplomatic Commission...

On Monday, 28 July 2003, a Seminar for Economic Counsellors of Diplomatic Missions and Consular Offices of the Republic of Croatia began at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Croatia. The seminar was opened by introductory speeches given by Mr. Stjepan Mesić, the Croatian President, and Mr. Tonino Picula, the Croatian Foreign Minister.

The goal of the seminar is to enable regular and immediate exchange of information and comments between government and non-government institutions, Croatian businessmen and economic counsellors, in order to advance mutual cooperation and efficiency. At the incentive of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the seminar was organised last year for the first time, also in July. The Ministry intends this seminar to become a regular annual working meeting of economic counsellors.

At this year’s seminar, speeches will be given by Mr. Tonino Picula, the Croatian Foreign Minister, Mr. Ljubo Jurčić, Minister of the Economy, Mr. Mato Crkvenac, Minister of Finance, and Mr. Neven Mimica, Minister for European Integration. A speech will also be given by Mr. Marko Žubrinić, Acting Director of the Agency for the Promotion of Exports and Investments, as a signatory of the Framework Agreement on Cooperation in Promoting Exports and Investments between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of the Economy and the Agency for the Promotion of Exports and Investments.
