The Resolution expressed a wish to initiate, as soon as possible, the negotiations on the accession with the Republic of Croatia. It welcomed the future membership of the Republic of Slovenia and the Republic of Hungary and other countries members of the Working Community.
The enlargement is seen as a chance for inhabitants of new Member States and regions to participate, in the future, in the development of prosperity and well being through a unique European market. These chances primarily refer to companies in border regions and states.
Other priorities are mentioned as well such as cooperation between regions, strengthening of cultural identity in the spirit of mutual cooperation, understanding and pacifism., economic and social cohesion, development programs etc.
The task of the Alps-Adriatic Working Community is to build bridges, to give its contribution to harmonious integration and to overcome problems of transition periods. It also intends to intensify its cooperation in cultural, economic and social area. It represents a platform for EU-projects and EU networking.
