The Chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry presented the multi-year activities of his Chamber related to accessing the Croatian market, which has culminated in his visit to Croatia, and yesterday"s signing of two cooperation agreements. Cooperation agreements were signed with the Croatian Chamber of Trades and Crafts, and the Croatian Chamber of Economy.
It was concluded at the meeting that the current level of economic cooperation is unsatisfactory, especially considering the geostrategic position of the Republic of Croatia and the potential that it presents, particularly for cooperation with the Republic of Indonesia and other Asian economies.
The interest of the Indonesian economy for cooperation in several sectors was conveyed, such as in the defence and military industry, and pharmaceutical industry. A special interest was also indicated in the tourism sector, where there is a possibility for cooperation between the Republic of Indonesia and the Republic of Croatia in the form of sharing Croatian experiences and knowledge with the tourism sector in Indonesia.
The President of the Republic indicated a strong interest in improving economic relations between the two countries and in supporting the achievement of better results in cooperative efforts between Indonesian and Croatian companies. Further contacts were agreed to as was a cooperation aimed at bringing the two economies closer.
Accompanying Mr. Suryo Bambang Sulisto was Mr. George Iwan Marantika, the Chairman of the Indonesia-Croatia Business Committee to the KADIN.
