The Embassy hosted and participated in the organisation of a concert prepared by the Canberra charity organisation „Friends of Opera“, dedicated to promotion of young musicians and talents. The programme composed by the organisation"s pianist, musical pedagogue and Art Director Alan Hicks included popular operatic pieces by Dvorák, Bizet, Strauss, Mahler and was performed by young sopranos Louise Keast and Caroline King and tenor Evan Kirby. The audience also had an opportunity to get acquainted with Croatian musical production – this time of the Croatian composer Dora Pejacevic. After appropriate introduction into life and work of Dora Pejacevic, Alan Hicks performed two of her piano pieces – „Gondola Song“ and „Song without Words“.
