The Croatian delegation, led by Brigadier Mat Mikic, Commander of the Croatian Air Force, accompanied by Colonel Samir Coric and the Croatian military envoy in Israel, Colonel Davor Turkovic, is participating at the "Blue Flag 19" Israel Air Force Exercise (IAF) from 3 to 14 November 2019 in Israel. Ambassador Vesela Mrden Korac participated at the Distinguished Visitors Day of the "Blue Flag 19" Exercise on 12 November 2019.
The "Blue Flag" exercise is held every two years with the aim of achieving interoperability and sharing experiences between the Israeli Air Force (IAF) and air forces of the partner countries. Aircrafts from Israel, United States, Italy, Germany and Greece participated at this year"s exercise, while Croatia, Cyprus and UK took part as observers.
The exercise represents a valuable opportunity to gain insight into the current developments, tactics, procedures and technology of the world"s most developed airforces, as well as to further develop partnerships with prticipating countries.
The Croatian delegation visited Israeli Air Force installations at the Nevatim and Uvda Air force bases, where IAF commanders briefed them on the geostrategic situation, challenges and capabilities of the Israeli Air Force.
