Minister Žalac in Israel at the international conference on women leaders

Minister of Regional Development and EU Funds Gabrijela Žalac participated, as a representative of the Republic of Croatia, at the 30th International Women Leaders Conference “Leading Women Making a Difference”, held from 28 to 30 May 2018 in Haifa and Jerusalem, organized by the MASAHAV - Israel’s Agency for International Development Cooperation Agency, which operates under the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs. This Conference - a unique platform for sharing experiences of women leaders from all around the world, brought together influential women in the field of politics, business, judiciary, media, civil society, academic community etc. from 46 countries. In her address, taking about her own experience, Minister Žalac highlighted the importance of mutual support and empowerment of women around the world, called for active involvement of women in decision-making processes and in taking over lead positions. Minister emphasized the importance of respecting the principle of gender equality and the need for synergy between women and men in dealing with the increasingly complex challenges of the modern world. In the rich and diverse Conference programme, Minister Žalac, among other activities, attended a meeting with Israeli President Reuven Rivlin, visited Yad Vashem - the World Holocaust Remembrance Centre, met with Deputy Foreign Minister Tzipi Hotovely and with Tzipi Livni, co-leader of the Israeli opposition. Along with Minister Žalac, Tina Krce, Chargée d"Affaires a.i. of the Croatian Embassy in Israel, attended the Conference central events.
