The Independence Day - 70th anniversary of the Israel"s independence - was marked and celebrated in Israel on 19 April 2018.
On that occasion, on 19 April in Jerusalem, at the residence of the President of the State of Israel, a reception for the diplomatic corps in Israel, military attachés, heads of religious communities and other dignitaries, took place.
The audience was addressed by the Israeli President Reuven Rivlin and the Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu - both pointing out, among other things, the satisfaction with the outstanding achievements that Israel has achieved in many areas in (only) 70 years.
In his speech, President Rivlin said “we will never close the door to the peace”. Prime Minister Netanyahu said that this was not only the 70th anniversary of the birth of the State of Israel, but also the 70th anniversary of the rebirth of the Jewish people. “If we had not built this state in this crucial point in history, the whole future of the Jewish people would have been in doubt”, he said. Prime Minister also said “I have hope and I intend to pursue peace”.
Ms Tina Krce, Chargée d"Affaires a.i. of the Embassy of the Republic of Croatia attended the reception, along with other members of the diplomatic corps.
