On 9 May 2016 in Jerusalem, the Embassy of the Republic of Croatia, among other allied countries from the World War II, attended a state ceremony marking Victory Day in Israel - the day of the allies" victory over fascism and Nazism, at the Yad Vashem - The World Holocaust Remembrance Centre. In Israel, Victory Day is dedicated to the memory of 1.5 million Jewish soldiers, who joined the resistance movement and fought in the WW II. At the ceremony, a message by the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was read. The audience was addressed by Minister of Immigration and Absorption Sofa Landver and Deputy Speaker of the Knesset Tali Ploskov, along with a representative of the WWII Jewish veterans. The embassies participated in the wreath laying ceremony at the Memorial to Jewish Soldiers in Yad Vashem. Ms. Tina Krce, chargée d"affaires a.i., laid a wreath on behalf of the Embassy of the Republic of Croatia.
