Zagreb Tourist Board participaed at the 20th International Mediterranean Tourism Fair – IMTM 2014, held on 11-12 February 2014 in Tel Aviv-Yafo, Israel, under the auspices of the Ministry of Tourism of the State of Israel, the air-company El-Al, the Israeli Hotel Association and the city of Tel Aviv-Yafo. The Fair was opened by Israeli Minister of Tourism Uzi Landau, with the Romanian and Polish Deputy Ministers of Tourism as special guests. Many countries from all over the world participate, with their stands, at IMTM, which usually attracts large groups of visitors from tourism sector, especially tourism journalists and tourist agencies. As in previous years, the Croatian stand attracted a lot of visitors again, as well as interest for all the promotive materials about Croatia"s tourism potentials.
On the 2nd day of the Fair – 12 February, a special presentations of the City of Zagreb attractions was held for the journalists and tourist agencies, with special guest, Mr. Nikola Vujcic, sports director of the Maccabi Tel Aviv basketball team. The presentation consisted of: short films about famous Croatians, Croatian entries on the UNESCO-list, a film about the Zagreb Jews, and of a power-point presentation about the City of Zagreb as a tourist destination. Mr. Pjer šimunovic, Ambassador of the Republic of Croatia to the State of Israel, addressed the audience in the opening part of the presentation.
