The twentieth anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic relations between the Republic of Croatia and Canada has been observed in the Canadian Parliament. A reception co-hosted by Veselko Grubišic, Ambassador of the Republic of Croatia to Canada, the Hon. Noel A. Kinsella, Speaker of the Senate and the Hon. Andrew Scheer, Speaker of the House of Commons on April 24, 2013, has gathered over forty members of the Canadian Paliament, including three Cabinet Ministers, as well as many prominent members of the Croatian community in Canada, many of whom have been personally involved in the events leading to the establishment of the diplomatic relations on April 14, 1993. The participants of the event were also addressed by a special guest of honour, the Croatian Minister of Entrerpreneurship and Crafts, Gordan Maras, who is visiting Canada as part of the larger trade mission aimed at promoting the economic and trade relations between the two countries.
