Announcement of the first direct air flights between Croatia and Canada Following the successful negotiations of the bilateral Air Traffic Agreement signed December 1, 2006, Canadian airline carrier ‘Skyservice Airlines ‘ has expressed their interest in offering Croatia direct air flights between the Republic of Croatia and Canada. The flights between the two countries would be the first regular overseas flights for Croatia since the Independence. The announcement of the Minister of Transport Canada, Honorable Lawrence Cannon, and the Representative of ‘Skyservice Airlines' on February 16th confirms the readiness of Skyservice for commencing direct commercial flights between Toronto and Zagreb. The first flight is expected as early as June, 2007 and regular scheduled flights are planned for service all year round. ‘Skyservice Airlines' transports yearly more than a million passengers from Canada, USA, Mexico, Caribbean and Europe. They operate regular scheduled flights with Italy and Portugal on the Airbus A-319, A-330 and Boeing B-757 aircrafts.
