Don Ante Kutleša from the Croatian Conference and the Bosnia and Herzegovina Conference visited the Embassy of Croatia in Ottawa on October 27, 2006 and was welcomed by Croatian Ambassador Vesela Mrden Korac and the Embassy staff.
Don Kutleša is on the tour of Canada and will visit Croatian Catholic Communities. He was accompanied by Ilija Petkovic from the Croatian Catholic Church Presveto Trojstvo in Oakville and his sister Katarina Petkovic as well as by Adam Tabak from Croatian Catholi Church St. Leopold Mandic in Ottawa.
Ambassador Mrden Korac informed the guests of the Embassy activities with regard to the bilateral relations between Croatia and Canada. She also reffered to the issuses related to Croatian Community in Canada. Ambassador stressed that the Croatian community has a very important role in bridging two countries, particularly in the fields of economy, culture and tourism. Mr Ivo Vasilj, Counsular officer at the Embassy explained some of the most important consular issues related to the members of the community.
The guests were beeing introduced to the building of the Embassy that was bought and reconstructed with the assistance of the Croatian diaspora in Canada. The building is the official cultural site of the City of Ottawa.
