Local EU Council Presidency handover ceremony from Croatia to Germany was held on 1 July 2020 at the residence of the German Ambassador in Tokyo. The event opened with the EU Anthem Ode to Joy followed by the speeches by Ambassador Hrastic, German ambassador Ms. Ina Lepel, EU Chargé d’Affaires a.i. Mr. Francesco Fini and DG Europe Ambassador Yasushi Masaki from MOFA. All speakers pointed out that Croatia has very successfully navigated the rotational Presidency amid challenging circumstances. They also expressed high expectations for the German presidency to dedicate majority of efforts to social and economic recovery from extremely damaging Corona virus pandemics.
