A group of Croatian inventors successfully participated at the 2017 Japan Design & Invention Expo held from 4-6 August 2017 in Tokyo, Japan, winning 5 gold medals, 3 silver medals, 1 special award and 1 monetary award. Each of the eight innovations presented at the Expo won a medal.
Ivan Krunic, Roman Krunic and Tomislav Krunic (Roto Kruna company) won a gold medal, special award as well as monetary award for Roto Rasp – an innovative product for cutting soft materials.
The other four gold medals were given to Mirjana Brlecic (Priroda lijeci company) for the Nikel Prive MB Complex collection, Almir Karabegovic (Adleja company) for a contraceptive spiral for dogs, Vjekoslav Majetic (DOK-ING) for a multifunctional utility electric vehicle Tom-Tom and Pavao Potocki for the invention of a mini electronic box.
Three silver medals were awarded to Zvonimir Viduka (Altpro company) for the invention of a Level Crossing Protection System RLC 23, Dubravko Rogale and Snježana Firšt Rogale for an Integrated Technical Subsystem for Intelligent Military and Protective Clothing and Anita Bušic (Live Good, Development Agency Zagreb) for the BodyRecog app.
Croatian participation at the 2017 Japan Design & Invention Expo was organized by the Zagreb Investors Association, with the support of the City of Zagreb and the Croatian Chamber of Economy.
The inventors also visited the Embassy of the Republic of Croatia to Japan during their stay in Japan followed by a visit of the Embassy staff to the Croatian Inventors Network’s booth at the Expo.
