At the Tokyo Metropolitan Government"s gastronomy fair Taste of Tokyo 2016 that took place from 25 to 27 November, a wide selection of Croatian food products available at the Japanese market was presented. Croatian Embassy provided a booth at the event for the importers of Croatian products which offered to the visitors traditional Croatian dishes Fritaja with Truffles and Brodet (Fish Stew), hot wine, as well as the opportunity to taste olive oil and jams. A selection of Croatian wines (Stina, Kutjevo, Ilocki podrumi, Belje, Orahovica), Dida Boža Jams, Zigante truffles and truffle products, salt from Solana Nin were on sale as well as Olive Japan 2016 gold medal winning olive oils Oleum Viride Buža and Cuj Crna.
Special attraction for the visitors was the Show Cooking part which featured Blaženka Hrastic, spouse of the Croatian Ambassador to Japan, preparing typical Istrian dish turkey in truffles sauce with rice and asparagus that was served to the audience with top quality white wine. Truffles was donated by OishiiCroatia, top quality wine Ilocka Graševina was donated by Adria Trade and the rice by the friends of Croatia from the City of Tokamachi, which has special relation with Croatia since 2002 when it hosted Croatian National Football Team.
