The Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Republic of Croatia and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Ireland have reached an Agreement on the Collocation of the Temporary Office of the Republic of Croatia to the Republic of Malta at the premises of the Embassy of Ireland in the Republic of Malta during the 2017 Maltese Presidency of the Council of the EU. The collocation agreement is a result of a successful cooperation, as well of the intensified diplomatic relations between Croatia and Ireland. This agreement will also mark the beginning of a closer future cooperation between the two EU member states as Croatia begins with preparations for assuming its first Presidency of the Council of the EU in the year 2020. The collocation of the Temporary Office of the Republic of Croatia at the Embassy of Ireland will make monitoring and support during the Maltese Presidency of the Council of the EU possible.
