Presentation of the Priorities of the Croatian Presidency of the Council of the European Union in Sofia

<p style="text-align: justify;"> Ambassador Jasna Ognjanovac held the prime Presentation of the Priorities of the Croatian Presidency of the Council of the European Union on 14 January 2020, in the conference room of the Representation of the European Commission in Sofia. The overture to the Presentation was the screening of the official Presidency Video. The Video was ensued by the official presentation of the Priorities, paralleled by Ambassador Ognjanovac&rsquo;s presentation.</p> <p style="text-align: justify;"> The guest of honour was the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Madam Ekaterina Zaharieva. Minister Zaharieva commended the Motto of the HR PRES arguing that the EU truly is confronting serious challenges that it will be able to deal with successfully only facing them as a strong Union of all member states. She also praised the selection of priorities as she considers them very appropriate. The presentation was followed by a closed-door discussion about the Priorities presented and ways of achieving them, with no media present.</p> <p style="text-align: justify;"> The event was organized by the support of the NGO PanEuorpa Bulgaria, the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung and the Representation of the European Commission in Sofia. The response to the sent out invitations was excellent with a large number of ambassadors and diplomats, as well as officials from Bulgarian ministries and other institutions attending. Equally, a large number of Bulgarian media representatives showed up for coverage as they attach great significance to the Presidency.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <p style="text-align: justify;"> After the presentation of the Priorities of the Presidency, in the adjacent Hall Ambassador Ognjanovac opened the exhibition &ldquo;The Cravat Story&rdquo;, accompanied by a buffet reception with Croatian wines introduced and served.</p>
