Croatia marks 24th anniversary of international recognition

<p style="text-align: justify;"> On this day Croatia celebrates the 24th anniversary of international recognition, remembering 15 January 1992, when all 12 member states of the then-European Community recognised it as an independent and sovereign country. Six years later, on 15 January 1998, the peaceful reintegration of Eastern Slavonia and the Danube region was completed.</p> <p style="text-align: justify;"> In the past 24 years Croatia has realized all of its strategic goals. The Homeland War defended our freedom and independence, we became a full-fledged NATO member on 1 April 2009 and the 28th EU member state on 1 July 2013.&nbsp;</p>
