Upon invitation of the Mayor of Kamza, a city situated next to Tirana with 100.000 inhabitants, Ambassador Sanja Bujas-Juraga had a meeting with Mayor Xhelal Mziu in the Kamza City Hall on 7 July 2016.
The Ambassador agreed with the opinion of Mayor Mziu that it was necessary to intensify relations in all fields of mutual interest, because of the historic friendship between the Croatian and Albanian nations. The Ambassador sees especially the local level as favourable for efficient development of cooperation. She also deems necessary to explore possibilities of using EU funds, particularly through "Twinning Light" because of simpler procedures.
Great importance is attached to connecting Croatian and Albanian cities and one of the first priorities agreed upon is detecting a potential Croatian partner city to Kamza in order to facilitate thereby relationships and getting to know each other, as well as identifying the potential for business, tourist, cultural and educational cooperation.
