President of the Republic of Croatia, Mrs Kolinda Grabar- Kitarovic, visited the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland from the 11th to 12th of October. The President has attended an audience with Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II at Buckingham Palace. Mrs Grabar-Kitarovic later in the day met with Prime Minister Theresa May in Downing Street. She has also met with the Speaker of the House of Lords, Lord Fowler, and had a meeting with the Minister of Defence, Michael Fallon. At the end of the first day of the visit, Mrs Grabar-Kitarovic held a lecture entitled “Defining Moment in European and Transatlantic Resilience: Croatian Perspectives” at the London School of Economics and Political Science. In the evening, UK Minister for Europe, Sir Alan Duncan, hosted a reception for Mrs Grabar-Kitarovic at Lancaster House, attended by the diplomatic corps and the Croatian diaspora. During the second day of the visit Mrs Grabar-Kitarovic met with Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, Greg Clark. She visited Bloomberg, where she held a meeting with the Croatian representatives of businesses and information technology start-ups.
