Nataša Jovicic’s innovative project “Multisensory Collection for the Blind and Partially Sighted” has been successfully presented to a British audience for the third time; 2013 in the Houses of Parlament; 2015 in the National Gallery and again in the National Gallery today.
Croatian Minister of Culture, Zlatko Hasanbegovic, was in attendance to give support to Natasa"s work for the blind.
The National Gallery has purchased glass diagrams that help blind and partially sighted people to understand the work of art and will be included in the Gallery"s programme within the adult learning centre.
Dr Susan Foister, Deputy Director of the National Gallery, has highlighted that this technique is the first of its kind in the world and it is an honour to present this innovation in London"s National Gallery.
The audience were able to explore the Caravaggio"s Supper at Emmaus painting through the senses of sound and touch. One was able to simultaneously explore the raised glass diagrams while listening to detailed descriptions of the painting through headphones.
