Professor of International Peace and Security Mr James Gow from King"s College London, gave an insightful lecture entitled "Following Chris Cviic: Ethics and Reconstruction from "the Balkans" to Ukraine".
This was third lecture in the memory of Chris Cviic (1930-2010), who had a long and distinguished career as a writer, broadcaster and political analyst. Born in Croatia, he moved to the UK in 1954 and subsequently worked in various institutions, including the BBC, the Economist and Chatham House. From 1999-2007 he was Senior Political Counsellor for central and south-eastern Europe at the EBRD. He authored two books: Remaking the Balkans, published in 1991, and In Search of the Balkan Recovery, published in 2010. He was awarded the OBE in 2001 for services to democracy in Central and Eastern Europe.
