Croatian Prime Minister Zoran Milanovic participated at the high-level regional European Bank for Reconstruction and Development Forum on Investing in the West Balkans. The event, with aim to highlight potential investment and business opportunities in the region and promote the inflow of foreign direct investment and cross-border projects, brought together 7 prime ministers from the SEE, government ministers, political decision-makers and leading entrepreneurs.
In his address, Croatian PM Milanovic recalled "the strictest and the most thorough negotiations" which Croatia had gone through with the EU during the accession process, saying that aligning laws with European legislation is just the introduction to the reforms to come.
During the meeting with the President of the EBRD Chakrabati and the PM Milanovic excellent cooperation on a series of common, especially infrastructural projects, between the Bank and the Republic of Croatia was confirmed.
As part of the Joint Action Plan, the EBRD has pledged to invest over EUR 30 billion in the countries of central and southeast Europe in the 2013-2014 period.
