On 5 December Embassy of the Republic of Croatia in Ireland hosted a reception honoring the launching of the Ireland - Croatia Parliamentary Friendship Group in the Houses of the Oireachtas.
In his welcoming remarks Ambassador Ivan Mašina reiterated the interest of Croatia in developing further the ties between the two countries and underlined the importance of the group, as well of parliamentary cooperation, in promoting this goal.
The Ireland Croatia Parliamentary Friendship Group is the only formal Oireachtas group recognised by the Houses of the Oireachtas between the two countries, and serves to strength relations between the two countries at parliamentary level. The Ceann Comhairle, Seán Ó Fearghaíl, TD, is chairman of the friendship group and John Brassil, TD, is convenor. The group will explore areas in which Ireland and Croatia can collaborate and discuss the possibility of parliamentary exchange visits.
