On Tuesday 9th May 2017, the European Parliament celebrated Europe Day at the National University of Ireland in Galway. The Vice-President of the European Parliament Mairead McGuinness, MEPs, and embassies were present at the ceremony. Europe Day welcomed many high-school students who showed real knowledge of Europe and great curiosity talking to the MEPs. The event itself was held under the title "Meet Your MEP". The Croatian Embassy was represented by the Croatian ambassador, Ivan MaĊĦina. His visit to Galway was an opportunity to promote Croatian tourism and the opening season as well as to meet and talk to the Vice-President of the European Parliament, Mairead McGuinness.
