In Dublin, the President of the Republic of Croatia Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic met with representatives of the Croatian community. She told them that emigration is very important for the country but that Croatia needs to create conditions for their return so that they may enrich their homeland with their newly acquired experiences.
“Emigration worldwide is very important for the country but we have to create conditions so that those who enriched with their work the countries in which they emigrated might return and enrich their homeland with their newly acquired experience,” said the President who is on state visit to Ireland.
“You replaced Croatia with green Ireland in search of a better life and environments that are opening up and developing. Emigration is our concern and our wealth,” continued the President adding that Croatia needs to know how to stop this present-day exodus.
Ireland is a good example of how to develop relations with its diaspora, how to live one’s homeland while in diaspora, but also how to attract people to return,” stated President Grabar-Kitarovic.
