In Strasbourg on 3 July 2018, as part of Croatia’s cultural presentation during its six-month Council of Europe chairmanship, a concert of the Zagreb Soloists was held. Ahead of the event, held in the Saint-Pierre-le-Jeune Protestant Church, one of the oldest and most beautiful sacral buildings in downtown Strasbourg, Permanent Croatian Representative to the Council of Europe Miroslav Papa addressed the crowd. The Zagreb Soloists are not unknown to Strasbourgians: in December 2013 they held a concert at the Notre-Dame, and since 2011 their art director is Strasbourg-born Marc Coppey, one of the world’s best violoncellists. The Soloists and Strasbourg are also connected through UNESCO – they are the recipients of the UNESCO Medal, while a large part of urban Strasbourg is listed as the World Heritage site. The concert was co-organized by the Croatian Ministry of Culture and Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs.
