Culture Minister Nina Obuljen Koržinek attended 30 May 2018 at the Council of Europe in Strasbourg a ceremony on the occasion of Croatia’s chairmanship over the Committee of Ministers 18 May-21 November 2018.
Obuljen Koržinek formally opened an exhibition titled “Croatian intangible heritage on UNESCO’s lists”. The ceremony saw an address by Council of Europe Secretary-General Thorbjorn Jagland and performance by Croatian musicians Tihomir Hojsak and Filip Novosel.
After a reception organized by Croatia’s Permanent Representation to the Council of Europe, Obuljen Koržinek attended the inauguration of a streetcar decorated with the symbols of Croatia and logos of Croatia’s chairmanship. The minister than took the streetcar downtown to the Place de la Republique, where the ceremony of raising the Croatian flag was held.
The priorities of the Croatian chairmanship of the Council of Europe will be the fight against corruption, protection of ethnic minorities and vulnerable groups, decentralisation and protection of cultural heritage. Over the next six months, a number of events will be held in Strasbourg to present Croatian culture.
