First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Vesna Pusic held talks in New York with her Palestinian counterpart, Ryad al-Maliki.
The two ministers discussed the situation in Gaza and the activities of the UN truce-monitoring team. “In order for the Middle East peace process to succeed and lead to a sustainable and mutually acceptable solution, talks need to have concrete deadlines, similar to those in Timor-Leste,” Maliki said.
The Palestinian FM invited Croatia to attend the Gaza reconstruction donor conference early-October, adding that many traditional donors were fatigued from donating for reconstruction, which after several years is again needed due to repeated conflicts.
