Minister Gordan Jandroković at NAC ministerial meeting, 2 Dec 2008

Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of the Republic of Croatia Gordan Jandrokovic is participating 2 and 3 December 2008 in the meeting of the North Atlantic Council at the NATO Headquarters in Brussels.

Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of the Republic of Croatia Gordan Jandrokovic is participating 2 and 3 December 2008 in the meeting of the North Atlantic Council at the NATO Headquarters in Brussels. At the start of the meeting, NATO Secretary General Jaap de Hoop Scheffer notably welcomed the heads of diplomacy of Croatia and Albania, Gordan Jandrokovic and Lulzim Basha, who are participating for the first time in a regular meeting of the North Atlantic Council, as well as the new Slovenian Foreign Minister Samuel Žbogar. Today's meeting discussed the progress of Ukraine and Georgia, as well as their requests as regards the NATO Membership Action Plan, while in the context of the relations with Russia, the meeting noted Russian President Dmitry Medvedev's proposition regarding the new European security structures. Minister Jandrokovic pointed out that Croatia, soon to join NATO itself, considers the Alliance's enlargement contributory to the spreading of stability and security throughout the entire Euro-Atlantic space. Minister Jandrokovic also participated today in the working lunch between the foreign ministers of NATO and the invited countries and the foreign ministers of the Mediterranean Dialogue – an initiative launched by the North Atlantic Council in 1994, with the aim of contributing to the regional security and stability, as well as a better mutual understanding of NATO policy and goals towards the initiatives' member countries. At the invitation by the Belgian Foreign Minister Karel De Gucht, Minister Jandrokovic attended the Transatlantic Dinner, organized for the foreign ministers of NATO, invited countries, and the EU members.
