Croatia elected elected as Vice-Chair of CSP-27

The last week’s 27th Session of the Conference of the States Parties (CSP-27) to the Chemical Weapons Convention (CWC) in The Hague discussed a number of issues pertaining to CWC implementation and adopted a series of measures concerning the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW). Croatia was elected as Vice-Chair of CSP-27 with Latvia until end-2023.
 
Croatia will continue to implement the CWC guidelines and strongly support the work of the OPCW, whose ultimate goal is to eradicate chemical weapons completely. The states parties and the OPCW Technical Secretariat will continue to have an active and reliable partner in Croatia.
 
Croatia participated in the drafting of several statement during the session and co-sponsored four joint statements on Ukraine disinformation campaign, Syrian chemical weapons, NGO accreditation to the CSP, and gender equality within the OPCW.
