In late September, 30 members of the Buševec Folk Group stayed in Seoul under the leadership of the Folk Group President Nenad Rožić in order to participate in the Yeongdong World Gugak Expo 2025. Along with other folk groups from all over the world, the Buševec Folk Group presented the folk songs, dances and customs from multiple Croatian regions, accompanied by traditional instruments.
On 29 September, the Embassy organised a reception with the Buševec Folk Group for members of Korean cultural and academic institutions, along with members of the Croatian community in Korea. In cooperation with the Korean Culture Association, the programme consisted of Croatian folk songs and dances, presentation of folk costumes from four Croatia regions, and presentation of the Korean hanbok, symbolising the connections between our two cultures. At the reception with Korean food and Croatian wine, there were representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea, National Folk Museum of Korea, National Gugak Centre, Korea Foundation, and Sungshin Women’s university.
