On the basis of the good cooperation between the Embassy and the Jeju World Heritage Headquarters to date in the area of environmental protection and cultural heritage, Ambassador Dr Kušen answered the invitation of Mr Ko Jong-seok, Director-General of the Jeju World Heritage Headquarters, to participate in the World Heritage Global Forum on 3 and 4 July 2025. At the Forum, Ambassador Dr Kušen gave a welcoming speech during the Opening Ceremony, and had an opportunity to talk to representatives of individual national institutions of other countries that were present (ministry of environmental protection, leading persons of environmental protection agencies, heads of national parks). Further to earlier activities by the Embassy, the Jeju World Heritage Headquarters had signed an MoU with the Plitvice Lakes National Park, which was now also represented as a part of their permanent exhibition, together with the most famous national parks in the world. Ambassador Dr Kušen also participated in the opening of the International World Culture Festival 2025, where he had a brief talk with the Deputy Governor of the Jeju Province, as well as with a series of local/regional government officials.
