Donation from the Turkish company “Cengiz İnşaat” for earthquake victims in Croatia

Turkish company “Cengiz Inşaat,” a contractor for the construction of the second railway track and the modernization of the railway from Križevci through Koprivnica to the Hungarian border, made a donation of 250,000 Euros or almost 1.9 million HRK into the state budget with their payment to a humanitarian account to help the victims of the devastating earthquake in Sisak-Moslavina County and surroundings that occurred on 28 December 2020.

The project of “Cengiz Inşaat” on the modernization of the railway from the Hungarian border to Koprivnica is worth more than 3.3 billion HRK, which is the largest capital project in the Republic of Croatia and even more valuable than the construction of the Pelješac Bridge. This earthquake donation of “Cengiz Inşaat” is one of the most generous one-time payments of a foreign company in the Republic of Croatia.

Furthermore, the Republic of Turkey is the country that already donated 100 containers (with the announcement of the Turkish Government of additional 100 containers), 480 tents, 272 electrical heaters, 500 blankets, as well as 500 food packages and hygiene products for earthquake victims. At the same time, ten experts from the Turkish Disaster and Emergency Management Agency (AFAD) offered their field assistance and exchanged experience with Croatian counterparts immediately after the earthquake.

We hereby note that, in order to facilitate the payment of donations, online card payment of donations (Visa and Mastercard) from the Republic of Croatia, the EU and third countries is also possible. The website where on-line payment can be made is available at Financial aid - Croatian earthquake financial aid (gov.hr)

For those seeking or offering assistance to quake-hit areas all additional information is available at the official website of the Croatian Government, available at https://potresinfo.gov.hr.
