Notification for Croats abroad

The Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs notifies all Croatian citizens currently abroad who intend to return to Croatia to do so as soon as possible due to possible disruptions in air traffic, which could hinder or ultimately prevent their return altogether. If Croatian citizens find themselves in a situation where regular air traffic has been disrupted, they can contact the relevant Croatian embassy or consular office in the country they are located in. In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, airlines are cancelling an increasing number of international flights without prior notice. Croatian citizens located in countries where commercial flights and other modes of transport are still available should return to Croatia if they do not plan to spend any extended time in the country they are currently in. Citizens located in third countries (outside the EU) can contact the relevant Croatian embassy or consular office in the country they are located in (https://mvep.gov.hr/en/diplomatic-directory/diplomatic-missions-and-consular-offices-of-croatia/). In countries where Croatia does not have diplomatic representation, citizens can contact the EU delegation in that country (https://eeas.europa.eu/headquarters/headquarters-homepage/area/geo_en) for assistance and information about how to return to Croatia. The Croatian diplomatic and consular network is working tirelessly on repatriating Croatian citizens, often in cooperation with other EU member states. We call on all those who have applied for repatriation to follow the instructions and recommendations issued by the relevant diplomatic or consular representation. Croatian embassies and consular offices remain open 0-24 hours for assistance.
